At the June 15 meeting, we promised to send links out about several news items and upcoming opportunities. Here they are!
Emerging Leaders Project (ages 21-40) accepting applications through July 15
Hoosier Women Forward accepting applications through June 21
We will have an outreach table at Grant County Pride in the Park, noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 24, in Matter Park near the bandshell. Even if you have not signed up ahead of time, you are welcome to join us! Bring your own chair and don't forget the water and sun protection. >> Any suggestions for other outreach opportunities? Let us know!
We are looking for volunteers for an events committee. Events up for consideration currently are:
participation in the United Way day of service on Sept. 14
holiday social event
golf scramble next year
brainstorming other fundraising and outreach ideas

Precinct committee members in attendance at Thursday's meeting approved grants of up to $500 for municipal candidates on the ballot this year. We will have information for candidates about how to apply soon.
The deadline for filling ballot vacancies is noon July 3. If you know anyone interested in being considered for a ballot vacancy, please direct them to this form, where we are collecting information.
Two candidates have been added to the ballot:
David Broyles, Fairmount Town Council at-large
Rex Maynard, Jonesboro City Council at-large
Gas City Clerk Treasurer candidate Julie Flores noted that she has a new campaign Facebook page, we hope you will show her your support and follow it!

Our usual meeting place is unavailable for the third Thursday in July. We will update you when we have plans for our July gathering finalized.

We hope to see you at our upcoming GC Dems Connect gathering!
We are seeking candidates to fill ballot vacancies. We also hope to hear from some of our candidates already on the ballot!
All local Democrats are welcome to come and participate in discussion.
Please mark your calendars for 6 p.m. June 15 at the Marion Public Library, Meeting Room A (basement).
